The Interview

As most people know, our mission boundaries border with  Mexico.  This has, at times, concerned some of our family members, but really not Steve and me.  Of course, we hear about and we are aware of the trouble brewing on the other side of the border, but we haven't seen any of the tragedy that is unfolding in Mexico happen here.  We love Mexico and we are saddened at the violence that is happening to the country and the people. Not long ago, a missionary of another faith was tragically killed as the truck she was travelling in tried to race away from a cartel's road block.  After the murder, a local Spanish speaking television station sought out Presidente Trayner to talk about missionary safety. We met the news crew outside one our missionary apartments and Steve explained (in perfect Spanish- to the pride of his missionaries!) that we know that we are safe here.  One reason we know that is because  "...whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe." (Proverbs 29:25)

To our hermanos in Mexico, the prophet Alma expressed our wishes for you:

"And now, may the peace of God rest upon you, and upon your houses and lands, and upon your flocks and herds, and all that you possess, your women and your children, according to your faith and good works, from this time forth and forever..." (Alma 7:27)
